Our Audiologists
Our audiologists, with combined experience of greater than 50 years, all hold doctoral degrees and are Fellows of the American Academy of Audiology. Our audiologists will provide you with a comprehensive evaluation, trusted advice, and an objective hearing aid recommendation. They are dedicated to helping you achieve better hearing. When patients experience medical ear problems and need coordinated care, ENT physician colleagues in the practice are readily available.
Sierra Brower, Au.D.
 Dr. Brower obtained her Doctor of Audiology degree from the San Diego State University (SDSU)/ University of California, San Diego (UCSD) joint doctoral program in 2009. Her diverse clinical experiences guided her towards an interest in a medically-focused audiology practice, which she has found at Santa Rosa Head and Neck Surgical Group. She specializes in videonystagmography (VNG) exams to assess balance and dizziness disorders and diagnostic hearing evaluations; and she also immensely enjoys guiding those in need through the process of finding and fitting the appropriate hearing aid for each individual’s lifestyle. With her motivated team, she embraces the concept of continuously improving on the standard of care, focusing on the needs of patients, and stressing the importance of patient education and audiologic counseling.
A native Californian, she is a member of the California Academy of Audiology, as well as a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology. Outside of the office Sierra enjoys staying physically active with hiking and playing soccer.
John Jarvis, Ph.D.
 Dr. Jarvis holds a Ph.D. degree in Audiology from the University of Denver (1977), he is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology, and he holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association. Prior to joining the Santa Rosa Head and Neck Surgical Group, he was a university faculty member and had a private audiology practice for 30 years.
His areas of special interest include diagnostic audiology and auditory processing disorders. In rehabilitative audiology, he specializes in hearing aid assessment, verification, and counseling. Emphasizing education and a patient centered approach, he has dedicated his entire career to helping adults and children achieve better hearing and communication ability.
Jennifer DeCastro, Au.D.
 Dr. DeCastro is a native of South Africa, where she obtained her undergraduate degree in speech and hearing therapy. She holds a master’s degree from University of Washington (1983) and a Doctor of Audiology from University of Florida (2005). She is Board Certified in Audiology, a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology, and holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association.
She has broad-based clinical experience in a variety of medical settings (House Ear Institute in Los Angeles, Virginia Mason Clinic, Seattle Ear Clinic), where she provided full diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology services, including cochlear implants, for twenty five years. Most recently, the focus of her clinical practice was on fitting hearing aids within a retail hearing aid setting at SoundHearing in Bellevue, Washington. She joined Santa Rosa Head and Neck Surgical Group in 2010 and welcomed the opportunity to return to a medically-supported audiology practice. As a member of a team dedicated to providing comprehensive assessment and treatment of hearing and balance disorders, she values the practice emphasis on excellence and patient-focused care. She has a special interest in offering personalized hearing instrument solutions and guiding patients on their journey to better hearing and improved quality of life.
