Our Cosmetologist

Denise is a California state licensed cosmetologist who has specialized in aesthetics for over 28 years. She has worked in many aspects of the industry including European style skin care, aromatherapy, oxygen therapy, acne skin care and lymphatic massage for the face and neck. She has also worked as a professional make up artist in all aspects of make up including TV and print, bridal make up and camouflage make up for compromised skin conditions. Denise spent the past 13 years as a clinical aesthetician working with both plastic surgeons and dermatologists providing medically supervised skin care services to their patients.

Her clinical training and experience allows her to utilize varying depths of medical grade chemical peels, microdermabrasion and other treatments, along with science-based products, to develop valuable protocols for the correction of some of the most frustrating skin problems. Denise has always taken an inside-out approach to skincare. The skin is a direct reflection of one’s general health. It is this approach of looking at the body as a whole while evaluating the skin that led Denise to her second and complimentary career as a Certified Nutrition Educator. It is this combined experience that separates Denise from the rest and allows her to finely tailor her clients’ skin maintenance programs by combining her knowledge of skin care, general health information and in-office protocols with powerful products like Obagi and Skin Medica to effectively treat difficult skin problems such as photo damage, hyper pigmentation and aging skin.

Before joining Santa Rosa Head and Neck Surgical Group Denise spent over 12 years operating her own skin care office, 10 years with a plastic surgery office where she met and worked with Dr. Stephanie Huang, and then 1 ½ years in dermatology. She is an independent contractor and has joined the Santa Rosa Head and Neck Surgical Group to work with Dr. Huang to offer a full range of aesthetic and cosmetic choices for her clients. Denise is available week days and evenings by appointment.

REFINITY 70% Glycolic Peel

This alpha hydroxy acid peel includes a built-in, anti-irritant for maximum comfort. Dull, dead skin cells are removed to reveal healthier skin instantly. This is a great “lunchtime peel” with little to no down time. It softens fine lines, improves tone, texture and clarity of the skin. A good maintenance peel for all skin types.

VITALIZE PEEL
Treatment Price: $125.00
Procedure Time: 30 minutes

This peel is stronger than the REFINITY peel. It combines the benefits of alpha hydroxy acid with other peeling agents to improve the appearance of sun damaged and aged skin, acne prone skin, skin with discolorations from prior acne, and skin with uneven pigmentation. Dramatic results are achieved when a series of peels are done three weeks apart. (Purchase a series of 3 peels or more and receive 10% off)

SOUTH BEACH PEEL

This stronger, highly corrective peel utilizes TCA, salicylic and retinoic acids to dramatically improve the appearance of moderate to severe sun damage or aged skin, skin with texture changes from acne or aging, and skin with uneven pigmentation. It is a very effective addition to a skin rejuvenation program.

CUSTOMIZED FACIAL

Customized facials are designed to cleanse, exfoliate and condition the skin while providing a calming, very relaxing experience. The treatment begins with a skin analysis and consultation. Next, therapeutic treatments are applied specific to the clients’ skin type including a steam treatment to hydrate the skin and ready the pores for deep pore cleansing, thorough exfoliation to remove dead, dull skin and extractions as needed. Following this very thorough, deep cleansing and exfoliating treatment a calming, hydrating masque is applied and gently massaged into the face, neck and shoulders allowing you to drift off into a peaceful, restful state. Hands and arms are massaged with lotion and placed in heated mitts to complete the sensation of warmth and well being. All facials are designed specifically for the clients specific skin care needs based on Denise’s experience and expertise.

MEDICAL GRADE MICRODERMABRASION

This non-invasive, mild sanding of the skin gently removes dull, lifeless skin, giving clients bright, dewy, smooth skin immediately. Repeated treatments soften fine lines and smooth rough skin texture and create a more refined look to the skin.

There is no down time and it is possible to return to normal activities at once. An excellent choice for an immediate result and for those with chemical sensitive skin

Denise is specially trained in all areas of makeup application and color strategy.  During a makeup consultation, Denise uses her expertise to analyze your skin type, tone and texture and discusses your specific aesthetic goals.  Using top of the line Jane Iredale makeup, Denise will use colors and techniques that are best suited for you. 

COMBINATION TREATMENTS
